“There are so many new friends. It’s nice to meet all of you.”

“I would like to apologize on behalf of my mun. After finals, she’s been playing Animal Crossing non-stop. Someone should stop her before she stays up all night again.”
“I suppose you could say something like that,” Richard answered. “I’m waiting on several reports and a document from Strahta so until they arrive, I haven’t as much to occupy my time. Why do you ask? Did you have something that you wanted to do? If so we ought to do it together.”A smile curled comfortably at his lips, joy spreading through him as it inevitably did in the presence of his friends. Here he had begun his day expecting nothing exceptional from it, and somehow Sophie had managed to come. It always seemed that the times he got to spend with his friends was far too short-lived, for the chance to even spend a short time together was a blessing.
“I would love to come visit Lhant and have lunch with everyone,” the young king continued. ”You will have to let me know when is a good time to come and I’ll see if I can’t make arrangements. It’s been far too long since I’ve had the chance to come visit. Hopefully before your flowers fade, I would hate to miss such beauty as the sight of your garden in bloom.”

Her hair bounced as she nodded. “Okay. I’ll ask Asbel when he’s free. I’ll send you a letter right after we make a decision.” Between that time, Sophie would put extra care into tending the garden. She didn’t want Richard to miss a single flower.
The clouds drifted causing the sunlight hit Sophie directly. She instinctively shielded her eyes with one hand. “Oh!” she quickly remembered why she had came to Barona. “Let’s buy ice pops together.” The noise of clanging coins could be heard as she dug into her pocket. Sophie held out her palm to show how much gald she had. “I can pay for yours too”
Sophie ran to the popsicle stand. There were a few new flavors in today. Cherry, lime, grape… They all looked really yummy. She turned around and waved Richard over with a bright smile. While waiting her turn in line a thought came to mind
“Richard?” Her eyes showed much concern. “Can’t you order a holiday? I read in a book once that a tiny king used to order holidays so the whole kingdom could play.” Of course, the story was only a fairy tale and didn’t reveal the complications of what goes on behind such an event. However the idea seemed plausible to her. It was hardly fair for Richard to work so hard.

“That’s wonderful,” Richard exclaimed a smile lighting up his face at the sight of his friend’s. He had almost forgotten that it was the time of year one would expect the flowers to begin blooming. The castle gardens had yet to open their petals yet but the number of buds remained encouraging. Even so, he doubted it would ever hold a light to Sophie’s garden. “You certainly have a talent for coaxing life from the earth. I’m afraid I’ve never been very good at that sort of thing.”
“It sounds like you’ll have your hands full taking care of so many new flowers. I will definitely have to make it a point to come see them in Lhant sometime soon. How long do they usually stay in bloom?”

She reflected over the longevity of last year’s batch. The flowers wilted once the heatwave kicked in. If she protected them from excess sunlight by using umbrellas, they could last quite awhile. “Hm… depending on the flower they could be in bloom until midsummer.”
Each flower was as precious as any child. If the children she raised brought a smile to Richard or anyone’s face, it would absolutely make mommy’s day.
“I’m sure Asbel and Cheria will be happy to see you too. We can have lunch together.” As happy as she was to have Richard stop by for a visit, Sophie was a little concerned about Richard’s schedule. Was he busy lately? “Are you free today? Are you taking a break?” she tilted her head questionably. Maybe she should ask Pascal for a device that could take photos. That way, Richard could still see the garden if his schedule was too packed.

“Hello Sophie! It’s wonderful to see you as well! How have you been these days?”

She was excited to have run into her dear friend. She felt very accomplished these past few weeks. Sophie clasped her hands together happily before speaking, “I’ve been great. My babies gave birth to new flowers this year. Some of them are even hybrids.” She had quite the knack for breeding flowers after spending so much time reading various gardening books. A few of the flowers were rare in color. “You should stop by and see them someday, Richard.”

Ooh ooh!! I’ll go with you, Sophie~! Whatcha lookin’ for crabs for?

I want to learn how to cook crablettes.

But… I don’t have enough gald to buy what I need at the store. So I thought that I could find some.

If more people came with me, we could have a beach party. The weather has been getting warmer lately. I’m sure everyone would have fun just like last time.
